FAQ
- Tell me about Green Bay’s Other Team
- We at Bellevue Family Dentistry are committed to your dental health and comfort. Our Team strives to make you and your family, feel at home when visiting our office. We use state of the art dental procedures, modern dental equipment, and compassionate, caring Team Members who listen to you. Most important, there is No Yelling At You If It’s Been Years! since you have been to a dentist.
- What should I expect at my first appointment?
- If you have been receiving routine care, your first appointment will be scheduled with our dental hygienists. Cindy and Carie will become acquainted with you by reviewing your medical history, charting your existing dental work, assessing your periodontal health (gum tissue), performing an oral cancer screening, and obtaining digital x-rays and cleaning your teeth. Dr. Bob will do a complete examination and review the findings.
- If it has been years since you have seen a dentist, GREAT! We look forward to helping you get back on track. First NO YELLING, you’ve made a great choice to seek dental care and we welcome you – we don’t scold you. Second, we need information. Perhaps it has been years since you have seen a dentist. Things may have happened in your mouth, some you know about, some you may not. Dr. Bob will do a thorough examination including necessary digital x-rays, and tell you what he found. He will listen to your plans for your mouth and mesh his findings with what you want to accomplish. The two of you will make a plan and then you are ready to schedule treatment.
- Do you do cosmetic dentistry?
- Our Team wants to solve all of your cosmetic needs. To achieve this, we have studied with leading cosmetic clinicians and bring this expertise back to you. This knowledge puts our practice in the top 3% group of general dentists doing cosmetic dentistry in the country.
- What about white vs. silver fillings?
- White fillings have become more and more popular every year. This is because white filling material is not only natural looking, but also durable and long lasting. More and more patients choose white fillings rather than silver fillings to make fillings that are almost invisible. We still offer silver fillings, although the majority of patients prefer white.
- Are payment plans available for my dental treatment?
- We accept MasterCard, Visa, cash or check. We offer financing through a company called CareCredit. We accept assignment of dental insurance and will process your claim for you. We are a WEA Plan Participant and a Delta Dental Premier Provider. Co-payment and any other charges are due at the time of service. We extend a 5% courtesy savings for cash and a 2% courtesy savings when using a credit card at the time of service. Discounted insurance plans do not receive additional or courtesy savings.
- What if I have an emergency?
- We want to solve your dental emergency. Call us as soon after 8:00 a.m. as you can so we can learn about your problem. Should your dental emergency occur after normal business hours, call the office at 920-465-4477. Our automated answering system will give you further instructions.
- How often do you take x-rays?
- As health care professionals, we only take necessary x-rays. For most patients, this means that cavity detecting digital x-rays are updated every 18 months. A special image that shows both the upper and lower jaw and looks for potential tumors as well as impacted teeth and other diseases are taken at intervals that vary according to your needs and age. Our digital x-rays use 75% less radiation than film x-rays. We will be happy to discuss your unique situation with you prior to taking any images.
- At what age do you start seeing children?
- We start seeing children around their 3rd birthday, but can see children as early as two years old. We encourage parents to clean their child’s teeth at home daily. If you suspect your child is experiencing discomfort or has had trauma to a tooth, we would be happy to see your child at any age.
- Do you do tooth whitening?
- We provide two whitening choices. Our popular “ZOOM” whitening procedure is done in our office. Sit back, relax, listen to music or read while we beautify your smile. This session will last about 2 to 2.5 hours. Should you prefer the comfort of your home our Team will create home use whitening trays. Our at home technique will help you achieve beautiful results in just one hour per day for two weeks.
- Does gum disease have anything to do with other health problems?
- Recent research has linked gum disease to heart problems, diabetes, and low birth weights. The links between gum disease and the rest of your body involve different treatment approaches than were used just 8 years ago. Gum disease is unique in dentistry because it is an ongoing condition rather than a one-time solution such as filling a cavity. Dr. Bob and our hygienists will be happy to discuss your specific needs and potential solutions with you.
